Our Mission
Breastfeeding is more than nutrition.
Our mission is to give your baby all the nourishment needed to help them grow and thrive. Growth encompasses far more than physical development. Children need their emotional well being prioritized as much as the physical. We focus on development from a holistic, whole-body approach. Our goal is simple: To Grow a Baby.
What Makes Us Unique
At To Grow a Baby, we look at each individual holistically. We acknowledge and consider the various domains of development and health (physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual). This view of health informs the way we support families. We see each person as being uniquely created with a purpose and made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:14). Therefore, we believe each person as being worthy of care and respect. We strive to give the best care possible to all of our clients, regardless of their worldviews.
Our Story
Sarah Glod
BA, CBS (owner)
Sarah has always been passionate about the birth and lactation field. When she gave birth to her first child, she experienced many interventions which lead to her birth and start to her breastfeeding journey to be unideal. Thankfully, Sarah is incredibly stubborn and passionate about research and self-educated herself enough to reach her breastfeeding goals. When her first baby was born, she didn’t even know she had the option to ask for help from a lactation professional. She thought that lactation consultants were nurses in the hospital and once you are discharged, you are on your own. Praise God, that isn’t the case!
Sarah felt a strong pull towards becoming a lactation professional towards the end of her second pregnancy. She was incredibly supported by many holistic health professionals to achieve a successful VBAC. Because of this, she eagerly yearned to join the birth and lactation professional community in serving mothers and babies to grow and thrive.
Sarah has a Bachelor’s degree in Children’s Ministry with a focus in family counseling. She is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist through Lactation Education Resources and is in pursuit of becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She hopes to continue growing in her career to support parents to crush it at raising their children and assist them in encouraging their babies to grow and thrive.
